About My classes 

Ali Trumper -Qualified Yoga Teacher 

I am a registered nurse and as part of my own personal toolbox to maintaining my wellness I have practiced yoga for several years. 

 

At 60+ I am a slightly more mature yoga teacher !  

My classes are designed to support healthy, confident ageing.

Ageing well means caring for the whole system — musculoskeletal, respiratory, neurological, and emotional.

In these classes, we mobilise major joints to maintain cartilage health, strengthen key muscle groups that protect the knees and lower back, and use slow, diaphragmatic breathing to support lung capacity and vagal tone.

Gentle weight‑bearing postures help maintain bone density, while mindful transitions improve coordination and cognitive‑motor connection. You leave feeling clearer, steadier, and more integrated.

Expect a friendly atmosphere, we don't aim for perfect , no competition,  clear guidance, and practices that help you feel energised, capable, and resilient.

This is yoga that meets you where you are and helps you move forward with ease.

Yoga Sessions

My classes offer different approaches to yoga with the aim of offering people different options, days of classes and times to hopefully appeal to a wide range of people in and around Newport {Shropshire} and surrounding areas.


All classes are based on traditional ‘Hatha’ yoga; a broad term for a style of physical yoga which focuses on strength , flexibility, and balance.  

I weave breathwork, movement(flow), mindfulness and a teeny bit of meditation across different classes.

 

I also enjoy the anatomy of yoga, understanding how each pose can support the body.


My classes are varied to appeal to different people, of different ages both men and women and of course different bodies.


You will not be expected to do complex poses that are out of reach for most bodies, including mine!


Whichever class you attend yoga can have many benefits including increasing flexibility, particularly within the big muscle groups, increase muscle strength and endurance. Increase the range of motion around joints and improve balance.


Spiritually yoga can support those people who are looking to connect to oneself on a deeper level.


Mentally, yoga quietens the chattering mind.


I also offer Self Care Events and retreats throughout the year each offering particular themes.

What to bring -Just Yourself !!!  
What to wear - clothes that help keep the body covered when  stretching, such as leggings, trousers,  tight fitting shorts and top, maybe a hoodie to keep warm in relaxation.  
What are the benefits of seated yoga - the chair helps make this form of yoga more accessible to people who may want a change from traditional floor based yoga or for those who may have balance or mobility problems of have an injury for example ,    

This class is sometimes followed by a cup of tea!
